Two concentric circles with center O have A, B, C, D
as the points of intersection with the line 1 as shown in Fig.8.
If AD = 12 cm and BC = 8 cm, find the lengths of AB, CD, AC and BD.

AB=2cm

CD=2cm

AC=10cm

BD=10cm

Given,

    AD=12cm

    BC=8cm

i) Length of AB,

    (AD-BC)/2

  =(12-8)/2

  =4/2

  =2 cm

ii) Length of CD,

     CD=AB  

   ∴CD=2cm     [or]

    (AD-BC)/2

  =(12-8)/2

  =4/2

  =2 cm

iii) Length of AC,

  AC=AD-CD

 =12-2

 =10 cm

iv)Length of BD,

  BD=AD-AB

 =12-2

 =10cm
