Two conducting wires of same material and of equal lengths and equal diameters are first connected in series and then in parallel in a circuit across the same potential difference. What is the ratio of heat produced in series and parallel combination for the same time duration?

Answer:

ANS = 4:1

formula of heat produced is IR*2

in series connection equivalent resistance is 2R and in parallel it is R/2

put in formula for same current I U will get the ANS
