two conducting wires of the same material and of equal length and equal diameter are first connected in series then alfalah in circuit circuit across the same potential the ratio of heat produced in series and parallel combination would be
a.1:2
b.2:1
c.1:4
d.4:1

Answer: 4:1

Explanation:

when wire is connected in series,

potential =V

current =I

resistance = x for each wire therefor

total resistance=x+x=2x

1heat= I^2rt

=2r I^2t

in parallel,

potential =V

current =I

resistance = x for each wire therefor

total resistance=1( 1/x+1/x)=x/2

2heat=I^2 x/2 t

1heat/2 heat=2r I^2t/I^2 x/2 t

=2x/(x/2)=4

4:1
