two conducting wires x and y of same diameter but different materials are joined in series across a battery .if the number density of electrons in x is twice that in y , find the ratio of the drift velocity of electrons in the two wires

v = I / Anq
v= drift velocity
A= cross sectional area
n=charge density
I= current

I is inversely proportional to the charge density/ number density of electrons

assume charge density be X1 in conductor y. then conductor X will have 2(X1) charge density.

Therefore, v in X/ v in y = 1/2
