two cones have there heights in the ratio 1:3 and the radii of their base in the ratio 3:1 . show that their volumes bare in the ratio 3:1.​

Answer:

we know that volume of cone is 1/3*(πr^2h),

given,

their heights are in the ratio,

h1:h2 = 1:3,

and their radii of their base are in the ratio is 3:1,

therefore ,

volume of cone 1 & cone 2 is given by,

v1 / v2 = [1/3(π(3r)^2*h)] / [1/3(π(r)^2*3h)],

=> v1 / v2 = 9πr^2h / 3πr^2h,

=> v1 / v2 = 3:1
