two consecutive angles of a parallelogram have measures (2x - 40) and [3(x + 15)°]. what is the measure of the smaller angle?

Answer :-

we know that, consecutive angles in a parallelogram are supplementary .

so,

→ (2x - 40) + 3(x + 15) = 180°

→ 2x - 40 + 3x + 45 = 180°

→ 5x + 5 = 180°

→ 5x = 175°

→ x = 35° .

then,

  • Smaller angle = (2*35 - 40) = 70 - 40 = 30° .
  • Larger angle = 3(35 + 15) = 3 * 50 = 150° .
