Given :

  • Two complementary angles differ by 16⁰

To find :

  • Angles

Solution :

  • Let the one angle be x

Two complementary angles differ by 16⁰ so,

  • Let the other angle be x - 16

As we know that,

  • Complementary angles = 90⁰

》x + x - 16 = 90⁰

》2x = 90 + 16

》2x = 106

》x = 106/2

》x = 53

  • One angle is 53⁰
  • Other angle = x - 16 = 53 - 16 = 37⁰

Hence, Angles are 53 and 37

Verification :

》x + x - 16 = 90⁰

》53 + 53 - 16 = 90⁰

》106 - 16 = 90⁰

》90⁰ = 90⁰
