Answer:

8cm

Given:

For first lens:

f=+20cm

distance between lenses=125cm

height of object,h₀=0.5cm

object distance, u=–25cm

Explanation:

By lens formula, 1/f=1/v-1/u

1/v=1/f+1/u

1/v=(1/20)-(1/25)

1/v=(5-4)/100

1/v=1/100

=> v=100cm

By magnification formula of lens ;

m=v/u=hi/h₀

(100/-25)=hi/0.5

hi/0.5=-4

=>hi=2cm

For second lens:

f=+20cm

u=–(125-100)=–25cm

By lens formula; 1/f=1/v-1/u

1/v=1/f+1/u

1/v=(1/20)–(1/25)

1/v=(5-4)/100

1/v=1/100

=>v=100cm

By magnification formula of lens ;

m=v/u=hi/h₀

100/-25=hi/-2

hi/-2=-4

=>hi=+8cm is the height of final image.
