Given,

Width of road = 2.5 m

Length of garden = 35 m

Width of garden = 20 m

Rate of construction = Rs. 100 /sq.m

To find,

The cost of total construction.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Area of road along length of garden = (35×2.5) = 87.5 m²

Area of road along width of garden = (20×2.5) = 50 m²

Overlapping area = (2.5)² = 6.25

Total area of road = (Area of road along length of garden + Area of road along width of garden) - Overlapping area = (87.5+50)-6.25 = 137.5-6.25 = 131.25 m²

Cost :

For 1m² = Rs. 100

For 131.25m² = 131.25×100 = Rs. 13125

Hence, the total cost will be Rs. 13125
