Two Cross Roads,each of which 5 metre, run at right angles through the centre of a rectangular Park of length 80 cm and breadth 50 cm and parallel to its sides. find out the area of the roads​.(Plz answer)

Solution:-

length of the first Cross parallel to its length = 80m.

Breadth of first cross parallel to the length = 5m

Area of first cross road = 80 × 5

=> 400 square m

Length of the second cross road parallel to the breadth = 50m

breadth of the second cross road parallel to the breadth = 5m

Area of second cross road = 50 × 5

=> 500 square m

Area of the Common part of the two cross road with width = 5m that lies at the centre of rectangular park = 5 × 5 => 25 sq m

Area of the second cross road= area of the first Cross road + area of the second cross road - common area

=> ( 400 + 500) - 25

=> 900 - 25

=> 875 sq m
