Given :

  • Two cross roads , each of width 10m, cut at right angles through the centre of a rectangular park of length 700m and breadth 300m and parallel to its sides.

To find :

  • What is the area of the roads, Also find the area of the park excluding Cross roads .

Calculations :

→ 300 (10) + 700 + 10 - 10 (10)

→ 3,000 + 7,000 - 100

→ 1,000 - 100

→ 9,900 m

  • 10,000 m² = 1 hectare.

→ 9,900 = 9,900/10,000

→ 0.00 hectare

→ 700 × 500 - 9,900

→ 2,10,000 = 9,900

→ 2,00,100 m²

→ 10,000 = 2,00,000/10,000

→ 20.01 hectare
