Two cross roads each of width 50 m, run at right angles through centre of a rectangular town 700m x 400m. (i) Find the area of the road (ii) Find the area of the space where only trees grow if, the cross roads divide the town into four equal areas.​

Answer:

Area of one road =700×50

Area of second road =400×50

Area of square formed in the middle due to crossing of two roads =50×50

Total area formed by two roads=

700×50+400×50-50×50

50(700+400-50)

=50×1050=52500
