Two crossroads, each of width 10 m, cut at right angle through the centre of a rectangular park of length 700 m and breadth 300 m and parallel to its sides. Find the area of the roads. Also, find the area of the park excluding crossroads. Give the answer in hectares.​

first we will find the area of rectangle

i.e. 700*300=210000

then we will find the area of the crossroads ,

crossroads

length =700

breadth = 10

area  =700*10 = 7000*2

14000-100= 13900 ( because in the figure there is a square portion where the cross roads meet that is repeated)

now subtract 210000-13900= 196100

1 hectare = 10000 square meter

196100 meter square = 19.16
