let the length of the side of cube 1 be 2x and the length of the side of cube 2 Be X.

volume volume of cube is equals to

 {x}^{3} and \:  {2x}^{3}

then ratio between volume is

2x \times 2x \times 2x \div x \times x \times x

which is

2 \times 2 \times 2

which is 8

so the ratio is 1:8

shubhamgatuam8707: in book answer given as 8:1
ramarchamishra: it is same only we can say it 8:1 also
