I think the dimensions of the joined cuboid are 16 cm, 8 cm, 8cm

since the two cubes are joined end to end of edges 8cm ...you will see that the height of the cubes becomes 8+8=16cm and the length remains the same which is 8cm and the breadth too remains the same
