Answer:

a³ = 512

=> a = 8 cm.

when two cubes are joined:

height of the resultant cuboid = width of the resultant cuboid.

length of cuboid = 8 + 8 = 16 cm.

so, CSA = 2(l + b) × h = 2(16 + 8) × 8 = 2 × 24 × 8

= 384 cm².

TSA = 2(lb + bh + lh) = 2(128 + 64 + 128)

= 2 × 320 = 640 cm².
