Answer:

volume of both cubes = 64cm^3

We know that volume of a cube =a^3

64=a^3

(4)^3=a^3

a=4 cm

Now when two cubes are joined they form a cuboid.

length of cuboid=4+4=8cm (therefore, two cubes are joined together end to end)

breadth of cuboid=4cm

height of cuboid=4cm

surface area of cuboid=2(lb+bh+hl)

=2(8×4+4×4+4×8)

=2(32+16+32)

=2(80)

=160cm^2

The Volume (V) of each cube is = 64 cm^3

This implies that a3 = 64 cm^3

∴ The side of the cube, i.e. a = 4 cm

Also, the breadth and length of the resulting cuboid will be 4 cm each while its height will be 8 cm.

So, the surface area of the cuboid (TSA) = 2(lb + bh + lh)

Now, by putting the values, we get,

= 2(8×4 + 4×4 + 4×8) cm^2

= (2 × 80) cm√2

Hence, TSA of the cuboid = 160 cm^2

Hope it's Helpful.....:)
