let the edges of the cube be a and b 
now we know the formula of cube that is side *side*side
.....a/b = 1/27
(a)cube/(b)cube = 1 cube /3cube .........(as 27 is the cube of 3)

a³/b³ = 1/27 or we can say (a/b)³ = (1/3)³
Hence the edges are (a/b) = 1/3
Now ratio in surface area
6a²/6b²= 1/9= 1:9
