Two cubes of ice are pressed hard between palms, when the pressure is released, the two cubes join together. Explain.​

When we press the ice cubes together, the touching Side of the ice cubes begin to melt but the temperature of the ice is still 0 degree so the water freezes again and both the ice cubes join together...

The reason for it is that an increase in pressure decreases the melting point of ice. When two ice cubes are pressed hard between the palms, the melting point of ice lowers which leads to the formation of a thin layer of water where they are pressed together. When the pressure is released , the ice cubes join together.
