Answer:

After joining the cubes a cuboid will be formed of dimensions

4×8×4

Hence, Surface Area of Cuboid is =2(4×8)+2(8×4)+2(4×4)=160 cm

Given:- Sides of cube = 4cm

To find:- Total surface area of new solid formed.

Solution :-

Two cubes together will form a cuboid.

So, length of cuboid will be twice the sides of cube.

  • Length = 2 × 4 = 8cm
  • Height = 4cm
  • Breadth = 4cm

Total surface area of new solid = Total surface area of cuboid.

 \sf \: total \: surface \: area \: of \: cuboid \:  = 2(lb + bh + hl) \\   \sf \: = 2(8 \times 4 + 4 \times 4 + 4 \times 8) \\  \sf \:  = 2(32 + 16 + 32) \\  \sf \:  = 2(80) \\  \sf \:  = 160cm  {}^{2}

Therefore, the total surface area of the cuboid is 160cm².
