Answer:

Given :

Two cubes of 4 cm are fixed together.

So, the new solid formed is cuboid

length of the cuboid = 4 + 4 = 8cm

breadth of the cuboid = 4 cm

height of the cubiod = 4cm

To find :

Total surface area ?

Solution:

Total surface area of cuboid = 2(lb+bh+lh) unit²

= 2( 8×4 + 4×4 + 8×4 ) cm²

= 2 ( 32 + 16 + 32 ) cm²

= 2 × 80 cm²

= 160 cm²

Hence, the total surface area of the new solid formed (cuboid) is 160 cm².
