Answer: 3.6m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Edges of the cubical boxes :- 60 cm = 0.6m

Two cubical boxes stuck together form a cuboid.

The length of the so formed box will be :-

0.6m + 0.6m = 1.2m

The height and breadth so formed will be:-

0.6m

Total surface area of a cuboid = 2 (lb + lh +bh )

⇒ 2 ( 0.72 + 0.72 + 0.36 )

⇒2 ( 1.8 )

So, the total surface are of the new box formed will be 3.6 m².

Answer:

Total Surface Area of the new box is 36000cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of the box = 60cm × 60cm × 60cm

After joining the box, any one of the dimensions will change.

Here let us assume that the height and the breadth remain the same and the length changes.

When the boxes are joined, its dimensions become 120cm × 60cm × 60cm

We know the Total Surface Area = 2(LB+BH+HL)

where L = Length of the box

B = Breadth of the box

H = Height of the box

Therefore Total Surface Area of the new box = 2 ( 120*60 + 60*60 + 60*120)

                                                                            = 2 ( 7200 + 3600 + 7200)

                                                                            = 2 ( 18000)

                                                                            = 36000cm²
