Hi ,

Let first cyclist is A .

second cyclist is B .

distance of the path = d = 500m

speed of A = 5m/s

speed of B = 8m/s

Relative speed of cyclists ( they are moving

opposite direction ) = S = 5 + 8 = 13m/s

Time taken to meet each other = d/S

t = ( 500/13 ) sec

I hope this helps you.
