Solution :-

Given : Two cyclists P and Q cycle at 20 km/hour and 16 km/hour towards each other respectively.

They meet after 40 minutes = 2/3 hours

Let the distance be x km.

According to the question,

Distance = Time × Speed

=> x = 2/3 (20 + 16)

=> x = (2 × 36)/3 = 24 km

Hence,

The distance between them = 24 km
