hello users........

Given that
Two cylinders of equal volume heights in the ratio of 1:9

solution:-
we know that
volume of a cylinder = πr²h

here
let 1st cylinder having radius = x
and 2nd having radius = y

also given that
heights of cylinders are in the ratio of 1:9

=> 1st cylinder having height = 1h
and 2nd = 9h

now

both cylinders having equal volumes
=> πx²h = πy²×9h
=> x² = 9y² = (3y)²
=> x= 3y

hence
radii of cylinders are in ratio of 1:3 answer

aadilmirza0768: Could you check once the ans is 3:1 or 1:3
Ankit1408: it is not given in the statement of question that first or 2nd cylinder having greater height
Ankit1408: if 1st cylinder having greater height than radii are in ratio in
Ankit1408: 3:1
Ankit1408: if 2nd having greater height than ratio =1:3
Ankit1408: hope you understand

Solutions :-

Given :
Two cylinders of equal volume heights in the ratio of 1 : 9

Let the radius of one cylinder be R
Radius of other cylinder be r

Let the height of one cylinder be h
Height of other cylinder be 9h

We know that,
Volume of cylinder = πr²h cu. unit

Now,

πR²h = πr²9h
=> R² = r²9
=> R² = 9r²
=> R² = (3r)²
=> R = 3r

Hence,
The ratio of radii = 1 : 3
