Two cylindrical vessels fitted with pistons A and B
area of cross section 8 cm2 and 320 cm respective
are joined at their bottom by a tube and they
completely filled with water. When a mass of 4 kg
placed on piston A.find: (i) the pressure on piston
(ii) the pressure on piston B, and (iii) the thrust on

Explanation:

Area of Piston A=8cm2

Area of PistonB=320cm2

Mass on Piston A=4kg=4000g

Weight=Thrust=4000gf

i) Pressure on piston A=4000gf/8cm2 = 500gf/cm2

iii)Thrust on Piston B= F1/A1=F2/A2(Law of Hydarulic Machine) or..4000/8=F2/320

or..4000/1=F2/40

or.. 4000×40=F2

or..160000gf=F2

ii)Pressure of Piston B= 160000gf/320cm2=500gf/cm2

So in my opinion.....the above 3 ans are 500gf/cm2, 500gf/cm2 and 160000gf....Hope u agree with it....if so...please comment and thanku
