Answer:

The fraction is 1/2

Step-by-step explanation:

let the numerator be x and the denominator be y

fraction =x/y

A.T.Q.

y=2x.......(1)

x+2/y+2=3/4.....(2)

Putting the value of y in (2)

x+2/2x+2=3/4

4(x+2)=3(2x+2)

4x+8=6x+6

6x-4x=8-6

2x=2

x=1

Putting the value of x in (1)

y=2×1

y=2

Answer:

Let the fraction be, x/y

CASE 1:

Denominator is twice the numerator,

y=2x .....(1)

CASE 2:

x+2/y+2=3/4

4(x+2)=3(y+2)

4x+8=3y+6

4x-3y= -2

4x-3(2x)= -2 (∵y=2x from 1)

4x-6x= -2

-2x= -2

⇒x=1

from 1,

⇒y=2

∴the required fraction is 1/2
