Given:

  • Two dice are placed side by side with 5+2.

To Find:

  • What is the total on the face opposite to the 5+2

Solution:

  • A die is a type of cube where the number 1 to 6 appears on the sides of the cube in the form of dots.
  • The number 1 is represented by a single dot, the number 2 is represented by 2 dots and so on.
  • If two dice are placed side by side, then the sum of total of face opposite depends on the factor that which two sides of die are overlapping.

Now, We are required to find the sum on the face opposite to 5+2. Use the fact that the sum of the number on opposite faces of die is always 7.

So the number on the face opposite to 5  is 2 and the number on the face opposite to 2 is 5.

This implies that the sum on the face opposite to 5+2 =   2+5 = 7
