\huge\bf{Answer:-}

Given:-

  • two dice are thrown in air,

To find:

  • probability of getting sum as 3

Solution:-

Each dice has 6 possible outcomes from 1 to 6

Hence possible outcomes for 2 dice are

  • = 6 × 6
  • = 36
  • n(S) = 36
  • Event E is sum of both dice = 3

  • E = { ( 1, 2) , ( 2, 1)}

  • n(E) = 2

  • P(E) = n(E)/n(S)

  • => P(E) = 2/36

  • => P(E) = 1/1

probability of getting sum as 3 = 1/18
