Given:-
- two dice are thrown in air,
To find:
- probability of getting sum as 3
Solution:-
Each dice has 6 possible outcomes from 1 to 6
Hence possible outcomes for 2 dice are
- = 6 × 6
- = 36
- n(S) = 36
- Event E is sum of both dice = 3
- E = { ( 1, 2) , ( 2, 1)}
- n(E) = 2
- P(E) = n(E)/n(S)
- => P(E) = 2/36
- => P(E) = 1/1
probability of getting sum as 3 = 1/18
