Then the number of possible outcomes n(S) = 6^2.
 
                                                                           = 36.


The probability that sum of the two numbers on the top of dice is 8 

n(E) = {2,6},{5,3},{3,5},{4,4},{6,2}

        = 5.


The required probability = n(E)/n(S)

                                          = 5/36.
