In amoeba, fission can take place in any plane whereas in leishmania which has a whip like structure at the end of the cell, fissiom takes place with respect to such structures.

Leishmania is a common human parasitic protozoan which also has a single cell structure.Hence, the binary fission of leishmania has a definite orientation. This is the main difference between binary fission of amoeba and leishmania.
