let x and y be the digit.
x+y=4......(1)
Then number=10x+y (considering x as tens digit and y as once digit)
When 18 is added,
New number=10x+y+18
It is said that the new number is the reverse of the old one.
⇒ 10x+y+18=10y+x
⇒ 9x-9y+18=0
⇒x-y+2=0
⇒x=y-2
put this in the eq(1) and you will get the digits
