a. The Mughals were known for their extravagant lifestyle, grandeur and art and architecture.
b. They brought about new style of architecture, landscape gardening.
c. Mughal tomb gardens were built in Persian style architecture.
d. These gardens were called chahar bagh, four gardens, because of their symmetrical division into quarters.
e. These gardens had canals, fountains, pools.
f. Material like marbles, bricks were used but no iron was used.
g. The mausoleums were octagon ally planned with huge verandahs around them to have open space.
h. Their buildings had decorative panels, geometrical designs and inscriptions, they did not use plant or animal figures as it was prohibited by Islam.
i.In mosques, there were minarets in the four corners of the courtyards, from which call to the prayer was made.
