The compound formed will be electrovalent bond as A is an electropositive element and B is electronegative element. So there will be transfer of electrons.

The compound has high melting and boiling points because it has strong electrostatic forces of attraction between its molecules and it requires a large amount of energy to break these electrostatic forces of attraction.

Ionic bond.

As they can easily transfer 2 electrons to form an ionic bond

Since its Ionic bond it has high melting point as Ionic bonds are really strong interactions and ionic solids have really high melting point
