Two elements P and Q belong to group 1 and 2 respectively in the same period of the periodic table.Compare them with respect to atomic size and formula of their chlorides and sulphates.

P will have larger atomic size due less nuclear charge and Q will have smaller atomic size due to high nuclear charge which pulls the valence shell closer to the nucleus. Sulphate by P - P2SO4 Chloride by P - PCl Chloride by Q - QCl2 Sulphate by Q - QSO4
