Explanation:

11:Na+O>Na2O

14:Si+O>SIO

Answer:

the element with atomic number 11 forms cation

Explanation:

the element which has atomic number 11 is sodium & the element which has atomic number 14 is silicon. so, sodium has 1 electron in its valence shell & silicon has 4 electrons in its valence shell.so it would be easy for sodium to loose 1 electron than silicon to loose 4 electrons. since silicon has 4 electrons in its valence shell it can either gain or loose four electrons. Therefore sodium will form cation.
