Given :-

  • Two equal amount of some are deposited in bank at the rate 5% per annum.
  • The Amount deposited for 3 and 5 years.
  • The difference between the SI obtained is Rs.120.

Solution :-

Let us Assume that, Equal Amount deposited in the bank are Rs.x .

→ Simple Interest = (Principal * Rate * Time) / 100

We have given that :-

  • Principal = Rs.x and Rs.x
  • Time = 3 years ans 5 years.
  • Rate = 5% and 5% .
  • Difference between SI = Rs.120

Putting all values in SI formula we get ,

→ {(x * 5 * 5)/100} - {(x * 3 * 5)/100} = 120

→ (25x/100) - (15x/100) = 120

→ (25x - 15x) / 100 = 120

→ (10x/100) = 120

→ x/10 = 120

→ x = 120 * 10

→ x = Rs.1200 (Ans.)

Hence, The Equal sum Deposited in bank is Rs.1200 .
