Given : Two equal point charges of 1 μC each are located at points (i + j - k) m and (2i + 3j + k) m.
To find : The magnitude of electrostatic force between them.
solution : seperation between the charges , r = (2i + 3j + k) - (i + j - k)
= i + 2j + 2k
magnitude of r = |r| = √(1² + 2² + 2²) = 3 m
from coulomb's law, F = KQ₁Q₂/r²
here, Q₁ = Q₂ = 10^-6 C
so, F = (9 × 10^9 × 10^-6 × 10^-6)/(3)²
= 10¯³ N
Therefore magnitude of electrostatic force between them is 10¯³ N.
