Question :-

Two equal sides of a triangle are each 4 less than three sides the third side. Find the sides of the triangle if its perimeter is 55 units.

Given :-

☞ Perimeter of the triangle

☞ Two sides are equal and 4 less than the third side

To find :-

☞ The sides of triangle.

Let the third side be x units.

The other 2 equal sides are x - 4 each.

Perimeter ☞ Sum of all it's sides.

Hence,

55 = x + (x - 4) + (x - 4)

☞ 55 = 3x - 8

☞ 55 + 8 = 3x

☞ 63 = 3x

☞ \dfrac{63}{3}  =  > 21

Therefore,

Sides :-

Third side ☞ 21

The two equal sides ☞ 21 - 4 =≥ 17

Hope it helps

Answer:

let X be the third side,

then ( 3x-4) will be length of the equal side.

as per the question

55=x+2(3x-4)

55=x+6x-8

55=7x -8

55+8=7x

63 =7x

x= 63/7

x=9
