Given :-

  • The two equal sides of a triangle are each 5 metre less than twice the third side.

  • The perimeter of the triangle is 55.

To Find :-

  • The length of its sides.

Solution :-

Let the third side of the square be x m.

The Perimeter of triangle = 55 m.

Let the one side be (2x−5) m.

The two equal sides of a triangle are each 5 metre less than twice the third side.

➝x+(2x−5)+(2x−5)=55

➝ x + 2x + 2x - 5 - 5 = 55

➝5x−10=55

➝5x = 65

➝x =  \cancel{\dfrac{65}{5}}

x=13

  • The first side of triangle => x = 13 m

  • The second side of triangle => (2x−5) = 2×13-5 = 26-5 = 21 m

  • The third side of triangle => (2x−5) = 2×13-5 = 26-5 = 21 m

Lets Verify :-

13 + 21 + 21 = 55

34 + 21 = 55

55 = 55

Answer:

13m,21m,21m

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of triangle=55m

let the third side be X m

Each of the Two equal sides of triangle=(2X-5)m according to question

sum of three sides=perimeter of triangle

2X-5+2X-5+X=55

5X-10=55

5X=55+10

5X=65

X=65/5

X=13m

Two sides each = 2X-5

=2*13-5

=26-5

=21m
