Question :-

Two equal sides of a triangle are each 5 metres less than tore the thrid sede if the perimeter of the triangle is 55meters

find the length of its side.

To find :- length of its side

Solution :-

2 sides of triangle = 2x third side - 5 cm

let the third side be = x

2nd side = 2 x X - 5 cm

= 2x - 5 cm

Perimeter = sum of sides

= 55 cm = (2 x 5m) + (2x - 5m) + x

= 55 m = 5x - 10 m

= 5x = 65 m

= x = 65 ÷ 5

= x = 13

Sides of triangle = x = 13 m

other 2 sides = 2x - 5m = 26 - 5 = 21 m

  • Hence, the sides are 13m, 21m and 21m
