GIVEN

In a rectangle the one of side is 5m less than twice of its breadth.

Let breadth be x

Length will be 2x - 5

Perimeter is 56m

TO FIND:- Length and Breadth if sides

SOLUTION

Perimeter = 2(Length + Breadth)

=> 56 = 2 ( 2x - 5 + x)

=> 28 = 3x - 5

=> 3x = 28 + 5

=> 3x = 33

=> x = 11

Now we got value of x i.e. breadth which is equals to 11m.

Hence Length = 2x - 5

= 2 × 11 - 5

= 22 - 5

= 17m

Therefore Length and breadth of rectangle are 17m and 11m respectively.
