Two equal sides of an isosceles triangle are 5y – 2 and 4y + 9 units. The third

side is 2y + 5 units. Find y and the perimeter of the triangle.​

= 53

4y + 9 = 53 --------(from 1)

2y + 5

= 2 x 11 + 5

= 22 + 5

= 27

Now, that we got all sides,

Perimeter of triangle = side + side + side
