For Triangular box 1 :
Side = 34 cm
Perimeter = 3×34 cm
= 102 cm

For Triangular box 2:
Side = 85 cm
Perimeter = 3× 85 cm
= 255 cm

For the boxes 102 cm and 255 cm of tape is required of the lengths of 34 and 85 cm respectively.

A.T.Q,

We need to find the length of tape that can measure the sides of both the triangles exactly.

Therefore, we need to find the HCF (highest common factor) of 34 and 85.

By prime factorisation,

34 = 2 × 17

85 = 5 × 17

∴ HCF of 34 & 85 = 17

This means that, for measuring 34 cm, we need to keep the tape 2 times and for 85 cm, we need to keep it 5 times.

∴ The length of tape = 17 units
