The Medieval period in the history of India is reffered to as the time of the Indian rulers ruling the subcontinent and its surrounding. It is also called the time between the ancient period and the modern period.

The Medieval period is the period of Mauryan, gupta etc dynasties. At the end of the Medieval period, many historians belief is the start of the mughal empire and the rise of Islam throughout the country. Also the rise of the Christianity and preachers coming over from the world also helped in ending the Medieval period.
