Two examples of advocacy campaigns are:

Example 1: Post-it Forward

Post It Forward” which was launched to break down silos of cyber-bullying, body shaming, and issues related to sexuality.

Example 2: He for She

The “He for She” campaign which was initiated by United Nations women towards the advancement of gender equality. It sought to actively involve men and boys in a movement against inequality which was initially thought as a struggle for women by women.

Advocacy campaigns raise awareness through:

a) Through campaigns and programmes promoting positivity and supporting online communities.  In this case, people are invited to share their personal stories and struggles without the fear of being judged.

b) Awareness can also be raised by Individuals facing emotional or psychological distress who engage in positive conversations and find the support they needed.

c)  Awareness and its message are further spread all over through social media.
