Length of train = s and acceleration = a
Here, Initial velocity = U
Final velocity = V

V² = U² + 2as

a = v²-u²/2s

Now, V = [u²+2( v²-u²/2s) s/2]^1/2

= [u²+ v²-u²/2]^1/2

= √u²+v²/2
