two fair dice are rolled simultaneously. find the probability of getting (a) the sum as an odd number (b) a doublet (same number on both dice). (c) a multiple of 2 on one dice and the multiple of 3 on the other. (e) a total of atleast 11.

There are total of 36 possibilities if we roll two dice simultaneously.

1,1  1,2  1,3  1,4  1,5  1,6

2,1  2,2  2,3  2,4  2,5  2,6

3,1  3,2  3,3  3,4  3,5  3,6

4,1  4,2  4,3  4,4  4,5  4,6

5,1  5,2  5,3  5,4  5,5  5,6

6,1  6,2  6,3  6,4  6,5  6,6

Among the

a) sum as an odd no. ---   18

So, the probability will be = 18/36 = 1/2

b) a doublet  ---- Doublet is that pair in which both no.s are same
   
So, doublets = each in every row = 6
So, probability would be = 6/36 = 1/6

c) multiple of 2 n 3 on respective dices =  8
So, the probability would be = 8/36 = 4/18 = 2/9

d) a total of atleast 11 = 7 pairs r there
So, probability would be = 7/36
