To Find : The probability of getting the sum of numbers shown on the dice is either divisible by 2 or divisible by 5,

Solution:

Two dice are thrown total possible out comes = 6 x 6 = 36

Sum is divisible by 2 or 5

Possible sum are are from 2 to 12

Divisible by 2 or 5 are

2 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 8 , 10  , 12

Total - sum 3 , 7 , 9 , 11

Sum 3  = { 1 , 2 } , {  2, 1}

Sum 7 = { 1 , 6 } { 2 , 5} , { 3 , 4} , { 4 , 3} , { 5 ,2 } , { 6 , 1}

Sum 9 =  { 3 , 6 } { 4 , 5} , { 5 , 4}  , { 6 , 3}

Sum 11 = { 5 ,6 } , { 6 , 5}

= 14 Cases

36 - 14 = 22

Probability of getting the sum of numbers shown on the dice is either divisible by 2 or divisible by 5  = 22/36

= 11/18
