Two forces 100kN and 200kN act on particle and their line of action are in clinde too each other and act on angle of 40 degree. Find their resultant in magnitude and direction??​

we know when 2  (A,B) vector quantity get added and angle between them is x then the resultant come out to be

= √A² +B²+2ABcosx

here ⇒F1 = 100KN

           F2 = 200KN

          X = 40 DEGREE ⇒ cos 40 = 0.76

                                           sin 40 = 0.4224

putting the value = √ 10000 + 40000 + 2(100)(200)0.76 = 283.54 N

NOW for angles the formula is : tan y = Bsinx/ A+ Bcos x

putting the value = 200*0.4224/100+ 200*0.76 ⇒ 0.33

y = tan^-1(0.33)
